How do I sign in to Telegram?
Use a Telegram client you can identify, enter the phone number associated with the account and follow the current instructions. Keep the login code private. Read the safe sign-in guide.
What if my login code does not arrive?
Confirm the country code, phone number, active SIM, message filters and connection. Check a trusted signed-in device and wait for any timer. Do not repeatedly start new attempts. See the login code checklist.
Is the login code the same as a two-step verification password?
No. They are separate credentials. Telegram may request a code and then a two-step verification password. Keep both private and use official recovery instructions if you forget the password.
Do Telegram chats sync to every device?
Cloud chats are designed to be available across signed-in devices. Secret Chats are device-specific and do not sync the same way. Read multiple devices and Secret Chats.
What is the difference between a group and channel?
Groups are for member discussion; channels are primarily for broadcasting posts to subscribers. A channel can link a separate discussion group. Compare them in groups vs channels.
Can a bot ask for my account code?
No. Do not send login codes to bots, administrators or support accounts. Review bot safety before using one.
How do I make Telegram show Chinese menus?
Open Telegram Settings and find its Language control. This changes the interface, not the device keyboard or messages. See set Telegram to Chinese.
Is a download button on this site an official Telegram file?
Not automatically. Device-specific destinations are configured separately. When a button appears, check its final URL, publisher, version and file details. Telegram’s applications directory lists its clients.
Why are notifications missing?
Check the individual chat’s mute control, Telegram’s notification settings, operating-system permissions, Focus or Do Not Disturb and background restrictions. See notification troubleshooting.
Where can I contact Telegram support?
Use the help route available in Telegram or information on Telegram’s website. A web page outside your active sign-in flow cannot inspect code delivery or recover your account. Do not send codes to a person who contacts you first.
