Where to Download Telegram: Verify the Source Before Installing

Start with Telegram’s applications directory to identify the client for your operating system. If you use an app marketplace or another distribution route, verify that it is linked or identified by the publisher. Do not rely on a search result, mirror or button label without checking the actual destination.

Match the app to your device

Telegram lists clients for mobile, desktop and web. Confirm whether you need Android, iPhone/iPad, Telegram Desktop, a separate macOS app, Linux or a browser client. Packages can differ by operating system version, architecture and distribution channel.

If you are unsure which client fits, browse the device download guides or compare Desktop and Web. Avoid a “universal installer” from an unknown website.

Verify who publishes the package

Check the full domain and publisher identity. On a marketplace, read the developer information; for a direct installer, use a route linked by Telegram or the responsible project. Review the client name, platform, version and update date shown by the publisher.

If a signature or checksum is available, verify it using the publisher’s instructions and a trusted value from that publisher. Do not rely on a hash included only in the same suspicious message as the file. File size and antivirus scans are additional signals, not complete proof of authenticity.

Review the destination behind each download button

Third-party sites can provide instructions, mirrors or operator-configured links. On this website, inspect the final URL and check any named publisher, version, file size and integrity details before proceeding; a button label does not identify a file’s origin.

If a download destination is missing or unavailable, do not infer that the app can be downloaded from the page. Return to Telegram’s application directory or contact the site operator using a verified route. A download page should disclose when a file is not hosted or verified.

Stop if the page asks for account credentials

Downloading an app should not require you to send a Telegram login code to a person, bot or unrelated website. Avoid QR approvals you did not initiate, account passwords, remote-control apps and modified clients that promise a bypass. See fake Telegram app warning signs.
