To display Telegram menus in Chinese, open the app’s Settings and select the Language option. Choose the Chinese variant shown by your client, read the confirmation and apply it only if it is the script you prefer. The exact path differs by platform and version.
Simplified and Traditional Chinese
When multiple options are shown, read the exact label. Simplified and Traditional Chinese use different character forms, and wording may reflect regional conventions. Choose the option you can read comfortably and use it consistently on each device.
Telegram’s translation platform lists language projects and clients. A language listed online may not appear in every app version. Check the current Language menu in the Android, iOS, Desktop, macOS or Web client you use.
Apply a pack carefully
Built-in languages are available through Telegram’s own controls when supported. Some packs may be shared through links and may be community-maintained. Read the confirmation, language name and completeness note before accepting. A translation does not prove that the account sharing it is official.
Do not install a modified client or submit your login code to change the language. If the menu is incomplete, use another language you understand for security actions and review third-party language pack safety.
Language is not keyboard input
Changing Telegram’s interface does not change your phone keyboard, translate chat messages or alter your operating-system language. Configure the keyboard separately in Android or iOS settings. See Telegram language settings for the full distinction.
Switch back
Telegram’s interface indicates that language can be changed again in Settings. If you cannot read the current menu, use a trusted device or ask a person you know to guide you while you remain in control. Never share a login code or password as part of this help.
